After several weeks of testing, my husband, Aaron Scott, has been diagnosed with MTC – Medullary Thyroid Cancer. This is a rare cancer that makes up about 3% of all thyroid cancers. The cancer has also metastasized (spread) into the lymph nodes of his neck.
Currently he is scheduled for surgery later this week on Thursday, 06/12/25. The surgery will consist of a total thyroidectomy with a full radical neck dissection. After surgery, the team of doctors will determine what the next steps will be going forward.
As you can imagine, the past few weeks have been extremely difficult to navigate, and it has been somewhat challenging trying to respond to all calls/texts in a timely manner. So I created this space so we may update everyone about Aaron’s progress, as well as to support him during this battle.
As we all know, cancer sucks and support is needed to get through it. We have appreciated the calls and texts we’ve received so far – it has meant the world! We are navigating something we’ve never experienced before, which is completely crazy and a lot scary. So thanks in advance for your support. Also, any and all prayers are definitely welcome at this time. ♥️
