My name is Ruth Blakeney and I’m trying to rase donations for my brother John Gillespie. Who is fighting the advance stage of Laryngeal Cancer.
After Six months of going to the doctor for his hoarse voice. They finally came up with why he has hoarseness and difficulty swallowing, which kept getting worse.
He under went a nasendoscopy – which is to view the larynx. This test was unsuccessful because he was totally awake, plus nervousness.
Then the moved to a Laryngoscopy were he had general anesthetic. Now they discovered why he had the hoarse voice and pain when swallowing. His final diagnosis was Laryngeal (Larynx) Cancer.
On June 19, 2025 he is going to have his first surgery to remove the cancerous tumor from his Larynx (vocal box). On June 22, 2025 he is going to have another CT Scan to get his stage and grade of the cancer. I’m hoping and praying for a low grade.
We were told that he will have to go though 5 weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. t this time that is what the doctors has said. But we will know differently after June 22, 2025. He will spend 1 or 2 days in intensive care unit at the hospital to help him recover from the surgery. This healing process will take even longer because on top of all this he is diabetic.
With all this going on he is still trying to work. Even though he is mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted.
The road ahead is long and the costs are overwhelming. I’m rallying to raise funds for John Gillespie medical treatment, recovery and essential living expensive. Every dollar brings peace of mind and allows john to focus on what truly matters – Healing!
If you made it this far, thank you.
If you are in a position to help I’m asking humbly for your support today. Please share this with anyone who knows and loves him. Let’s give him the strength of our support and the dignity he deserves in this fight.
This is not the end of his story, it’s a pause.
A necessary reset.
And when he return?
He will be stronger, wiser, and more rooted in purpose than ever before.
Thank you for standing with me.
