Hello all,
I never imagined I’d be writing something like this, but my mom — one of the strongest people I know — has recently been diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Her life changed almost overnight. The things she used to do with ease — walking, speaking clearly, even playing music — have become daily struggles. And there’s a very real chance she may never return to the life she once knew.
If you know my mom you know she’s spent years playing music at benefit shows and fundraisers, showing up for families in need without ever asking for anything in return. Her guitar was more than an instrument — it was how she gave love, lifted spirits, and built community.
Now, she’s the one who needs help.
FND is a complex and often misunderstood neurological condition. It disrupts how the brain communicates with the body, causing symptoms like tremors, seizures, mobility issues, and cognitive challenges. There’s no cure, and recovery — if possible — requires extensive therapy, ongoing treatment, and emotional support.
We’re raising funds to help cover:
• Medical appointments and specialists
• Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
• Mental health care
• Living expenses during this difficult transition
This diagnosis has taken so much from her — her independence, her health, her career, and the rhythm of everyday life. But what it hasn’t taken is her spirit. She’s still fighting, still trying, and still hoping for healing.
If my mom has ever brought a smile to your face, comforted you with a song, or simply inspired you with her resilience, please consider supporting her now — whether that’s through a donation or simply sharing this page.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being here.
With love,
Jackie
