My Journey to a New Kidney: A Story of Hope and Urgency
Hi, my name is Isaias, and I want to share something deeply personal with you. Right now, I’m fighting for my life—literally—through dialysis treatment multiple times a week while I wait for a kidney transplant. It’s not easy to ask for help, but today, I’m reaching out because I need your support.
A while ago, my kidneys began to fail due to [your medical condition—diabetes, high blood pressure, genetic disorder, etc.], and since then, life has changed drastically. Dialysis keeps me alive, but it’s not a cure. It’s draining—physically, emotionally, and financially. Each session lasts about four hours, and I need them several times a week just to survive.
The ultimate goal is a kidney transplant. That’s what will give me my life back—freedom from the dialysis chair, freedom to work more, travel, spend time with loved ones without being tied to a machine. But even if a donor match is found, the cost of the transplant and post-surgery care is overwhelming.
There are so many expenses that insurance doesn’t fully cover:
• Travel and lodging if the surgery is far from home
• Anti-rejection medications I’ll need for life
• Lost income during the recovery period
• And many out-of-pocket medical costs
This is why I’ve started a fundraiser. I’m humbly asking for your help—whether it’s a donation, a share, or just a kind word of encouragement. Every bit of support brings me one step closer to transplant and to reclaiming the life I’ve had to put on hold.
I believe in the power of community, and I’ve seen what love and kindness can do. With your help, I can move from surviving to truly living again.
Thank you for listening to my story and for standing by me.
With all my heart,
isaias Martinez
