On May 28, Cody, my emotional support animal, passed away due to age as we adopted each other eight years ago. This was heartbreaking to me, but I had to realize it was her time to go. With that said, I am 47 years old and living with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy and continue on the journey to greater independence and mobility.
In July of this year, I have the opportunity to return to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for a week of check-ups and intensive physical therapy to increase my mobility and independence as medically I am not a textbook case. Even as an adult, doctors are perplexed at the gains that I have made and want to give me the opportunity to return to St. Louis to evaluate where I am and help me reach my full potential.
Due to Cody’s health declining very rapidly, all of the money that I had in savings was depleted due to vet bills. The savings was put aside for our housing and food while in St. Louis,
No amount is too big or too small, but all donations are greatly appreciated to help get me to St. Louis as the intense physical therapy program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital has always been a gateway to independence for me. They have worked alongside the doctors and physical therapists here in Florida to help me reach my full potential as I am a unique case of still making humongous gains as an adult. Any support to relieve the financial burden of this medical adventure would be greatly appreciated and not only would it impact me but also others with the same diagnosis and generations to come! Thank you for your assistance in advance in helping me be a trailblazer in so many ways medically, as an advocate for others, and the future generation of those living with physical challenges to let them know they can do anything they set their mind to!
