My name is Wesley Campfield. My dad, Harold Campfield, got dementia. I had to go get him from Indianapolis, Indiana. He was at the V.A. Hospital. I had to wait a week to bring him back because his oxygen level was low. I brought him to Topeka, KS, where I was living to take care of him. It became a full-time job to take care of him. So now, we’re only living off of his disability check for both of us for the past 3 years.
I started having medical issues: pneumonia, my right lung retaining water, and congestive heart failure. So, I had to put him in a retirement home. So, no income and continue to fall behind on monthly bills. I’m trying to get myself in better health so I can go back to work. Just need a small break to get my life back.
