Dear family & friends
It is with a heavy heart that I write to tell you that our Mother Ilene has enter hospice and her time with Us will soon come to an end. It is a very sad and painful moment for us, but She is now at peace and Her suffering is coming to an end. I’m comforted by knowing She’s headed to a better place.
Now as we grieve, we are trying to arrange for the unexpected cost that arises with these untimely departures and impossible decisions.
My mom was a mother to all the neighborhood kids growing up, her door was always open, she loved having us create chaos and revelled in it with us. There was no small talk with her as she loved to ask about this person or that person, Some of them I hadn’t thought about in years and she would act as if it were just yesterday, they were over at the house, running wild on the beach, jumping in the canal. Anywhere she went she would make friends, originally from New York. She held on to that New York accent like a champ even though she spent most of her adult life in South Florida, with stints in New Orleans. She deeply cared for her family and friends and would show it often. I’m sure you will miss her with Us and just as deeply.
We want to give Ilene a respectful service that celebrates who She was and how much She was loved. However, the cost of funeral services has created a financial challenge. To help these cost, we’ve started a fundraiser. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean so much to us.
Thank you so much for your support, kind words, and love.
With Gratitude,
Shawn & Nicole
