I’m setting this up for my dad, who has been through an incredibly rough few months.
Back in the beginning of April, he was admitted to the hospital with sepsis, and things just kept getting more complicated from there. He was diagnosed with septic arthritis, discitis, and had to have hip surgery on top of everything else. He’s had two long hospital stays — one in Cleveland, TN and another in Huntsville, AL — and has been on IV antibiotics at home since he was discharged from Huntsville Hospital. He’s had constant lab work, physical therapy, and an array of other appointments with infectious disease, orthopedic, and spine specialists. He’s been poked and prodded nonstop.
For a little while, we thought he was finally turning a corner. His pain was easing up, and he was slowly getting some mobility back — then things took a sudden and scary turn on Tuesday. He went to the ER in Guntersville with what seemed like mild breathing issues, and out of nowhere, he coded. They had to intubate him and rush him by ambulance to Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville. Right now, he’s in the ICU in critical condition on a ventilator.
He’s been out of work since April and at this point, we don’t know when — or if — he’ll be able to go back. If you know my dad, you know he’s a hard worker who always steps up to help others, but he’s definitely not one to ask for help himself (he’d probably shake his head at me for making this, honestly).
So I’m doing this for him — to help cover some of his medical expenses and bills for the next few months, just to ease the pressure and give him a little peace of mind while he fights to recover.
Anything helps — whether it’s donating, sharing this, or just keeping him in your prayers. Thank you so much for all the love and support. It truly means the world to us.
