It’s true what they say: nobody likes you when you’re 23. And for me, this included my own DNA. When I was 23 years old, I had been deep in the Northwoods of summery Wisconsin, stargazing on the deck of a boat, when a dormant predisposition for seizures showed up. The person I was with had never used a boat before, and neither of us understood what I had experienced yet, but thankfully, we made it safely to the hospital.
Tens of thousands of dollars in testing and treatments later, I finally learned, from a wise doctor by the name of Luy Tan, that I was experiencing seizures. It cost me more than money; years of weekly seizures have done severe damage to the integrity of my teeth. Many had become chipped, fractured, or snapped off entirely.
In recent years, several domestic altercations have undone tens of thousands in crowns and veneers, to the point where eating has become a difficult task. I’m a single father to a 4-month-old infant, Wesley, and money has been getting tighter with every passing day. Soon, he’ll have more real teeth than I do! The task of taking good care of myself, while juggling a full-time tutoring job, baby’s needs, court, doctor wellness visits, and childcare has been an intensive labor of love.
I’ve done some intensive research on dental facilities around the globe, and I’ve found that full implant dentistry has made incredible strides in foreign markets, to rival the quality of many American counterparts for fractional costs, including the travel and related expenses.
I’m looking for funds to travel to DentSpa in Istanbul, to receive an entire set of full implants. This cost would cover the whole procedure, travel, board, and safe care stateside for my infant son, Wesley, who will be taken care of by a tandem team of my parents, as well as his grandmother on his mom’s side.
