Hello, I am asking for help to raise money to get my rent caught up.
My husband had a heart attack and was off work for a month. I also missed work taking him to appointments, and I have a few health issues myself. I work 45 hours a week normally and only make $16 an hour. My checks are not that big after insurance and taxes; I bring home around $700.00 every 2 weeks.
My husband has gone back to work despite doctor’s orders because we are losing everything. We have already had a vehicle repossessed, and our electric bill is really high. My husband can’t work when it rains, so he hasn’t been working that much. The most his check was for one week was $489.00. I am not a person who asks for help outside of family, but my family has helped all they can. My landlord basically said he didn’t care what happened; he just wants his money and is now threatening me with eviction. I have applied for loans and have been denied. He has called me a liar when I have shown him proof of account overdrawn, etc.
My husband and I lived in our cars and a tent with our 2 dogs for 6 months before moving into this apartment. We have lived here almost 3 years and have never been behind like this, but he doesn’t care.
