Hi, my name is Scott Dalton, and I’m raising funds to help purchase a wheelchair-accessible van for my mother, Peggy — a woman who has spent her life giving to others, and now needs a little help herself.
Peggy is a proud, strong, and loving mother who’s always been there for our family. But in recent years, her mobility has declined to the point where transporting her safely and comfortably has become a daily challenge. As her primary caregiver, I see firsthand how frustrating and limiting it is for her — something as simple as a trip to the doctor or visiting loved ones shouldn’t be so hard.
Why We Need Your Help
Lifting her in and out of our current vehicle can be physically demanding. She deserves dignity, safety, and independence. A wheelchair-accessible van would give us the ability to take her to medical appointments, family gatherings, and even just for a ride — without pain, risk, or struggle.
We’ve found reliable van options with the accessibility features she needs, including a ramp and secure wheelchair tie-downs. But even a used van with modifications can cost $45,000–$55,000, once everything is factored in.
How You Can Make a Difference
We’re doing what we can — saving, exploring grants, and applying for programs — but we need help to bridge the gap. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving Peggy the safe, comfortable transportation she deserves.
If you can’t give financially right now, sharing this campaign with others can make just as big of an impact. Churches, community members, friends of friends — every connection matters.
This isn’t just about a van. It’s about giving my mom the ability to move freely, to enjoy life, and to stay connected to the people who love her. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this, and for anything you’re able to contribute.
With gratitude,
Scott Dalton
