On June 12th, I received a pacemaker, and since then, life has changed in ways I never expected. I’m unable to lift more than 10 pounds for six weeks, which means I can’t work a part-time job to help cover the mounting medical bills, doctors visits, and the cost of my medications. The hospital bills are starting to arrive, and it’s overwhelming. Even simple things like taking out the trash, going fishing, or swimming with my grandkids are off-limits for now. I can’t drive for two weeks, and it’s put a lot of extra responsibility on my wife. My daughter tries to help when she can, but she has her own family to care for. To make things even harder, my rent was just raised recently. It feels like everything is piling up at once, and it’s tough to keep up.
I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help, but I’m swallowing my pride and reaching out. If you have anything to spare, it would mean the world to me and my family. I’ve been relying on food boxes to help with groceries, and every bit of support—whether it’s a donation or just a prayer—is deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can offer.
