As many of you know, I’m suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and the disability is just slowly progressing. I’m now confined to using a wheelchair to get around the house and out in the world.
Getting into the bathroom is getting very difficult for me, and I need help raising the funds needed to widen the doorways and install a zero-threshold shower so I can maintain the ability to take care of myself. Life has a funny way of piling the difficulties until you just have to ask for help.
Last year, my van was struck by a hit-and-run driver. We’ve since repaired the van and tried to fix the wheelchair lift. The chair lift on the back of my van has now started to malfunction. My children have been real troopers learning how to lift the hood of the van to change the fuse or reset the breaker. But the lift is now tripping that breaker every time we need to use it.
I’m a stubborn “I can do this myself” kind of person so it was not easy for me to come to terms with the fact that I need to ask for help, and to realize that I just can’t wait any longer. My disability is starting to affect my family, my ability to care for myself, and my way of transportation.
In my most humble way, I’m asking for your help to make these projects a reality and to help my quality of life. I graciously thank you for any amount you can share or even just a simple prayer. Love and God’s blessings for you all.
