As some of you know I was born missing part of my face, a birth defect known as “double cleft lip and palate.” I was missing the roof of my mouth, bone in my nose, an incomplete top jaw, and top lip. From a three-month-old baby to an eighteen-year-old teenager, surgeons performed 13 different surgeries to fix my face. They did a really good job, but they (my plastic and oral surgeons) told me that I would eventually require additional surgeries to maintain and repair what they did. Eventually has arrived and I need to have more work done to fix my face. Unfortunately, these surgeries and procedures are stupid expensive and only partially covered by health and dental insurance. What they currently have planned for me will cost somewhere between $45k to $60k to complete. I’ll be required to pay $8k to $12k of that myself. Looking and hoping I can get help from some of you good humans to fund fixing my face.
