Hi, my name is Sasha, and I’m a mother of five, a hairstylist, and currently in school pursuing my nursing degree. I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for help with my daughter Nova’s upcoming eye surgeries — surgeries that could save her sight.
Nova has a rare genetic eye condition caused by the RPE65 gene, which severely affects her vision and can lead to complete blindness without treatment. Thankfully, there is a breakthrough gene therapy available — but it requires two major eye surgeries and travel to Houston for the procedures.
Nova is scheduled for surgery on her right eye on July 14, and 2–4 weeks later, she’ll undergo surgery on her left eye. These surgeries are urgent and absolutely critical to preserving Nova’s ability to see the world around her.
As her mom, I’m doing everything I can — balancing work, school, and raising my five children — but the financial burden is overwhelming. The costs of travel, lodging, time away from work, and medical expenses not covered by insurance are more than I can handle on my own.
I’m asking for your support — whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping us in your prayers. Every bit helps and brings us closer to giving Nova the future she deserves — one where she can see, learn, grow, and thrive.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a part of Nova’s journey to sight.
With gratitude,
Sasha N.
