Help Rocío and Her Daughter Through This Tough Time

Help Rocío and her daugther receive the care she deserves during this painful chapter

About Rocío

Rocío Carnero Meza, born in Peru and raised in the city of Pucallpa in the Amazon region, is 46 years old. She built a name for herself as a talented pastry chef, becoming well-known in her local community for her dedication and skill.

Her Battle with Cancer

Seven years ago, Rocío was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, her life has revolved around medical exams, treatments, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and oral medication. Her body could no longer keep up with the demands of her work, and she was forced to reduce her professional activity to focus on her health.

She lives nearly 310 miles from Lima, where her oncology insurance unfortunately does not apply. This meant leaving behind her home and her small business to travel to the capital for proper treatment. Each trip involved costly flights, accommodation, meals, and local transport.

Why We Need Your Help Now

Her insurance provided care for as long as possible, but about a year ago, the cancer metastasized—spreading to her bones, bone marrow, and liver. Three months ago, her condition worsened significantly, and since then, she has been hospitalized in Lima and is no longer able to leave the clinic.

Her doctors have now declared her condition terminal. All cancer treatments have been suspended, and she is currently receiving only palliative care—pain relief, basic nutrition, and hydration.

The cost of this care is overwhelming. Her daughter, who is now her full-time caregiver, had to leave her job to be with her. The clinic has asked for an immediate payment to cover part of the services, medications, and facilities Rocío needs to stay as comfortable as possible.

How You Can Make a Difference

Those of us who know Rocío and have seen her fight bravely for years are now turning to this platform out of necessity. We don’t have the financial means or a wide support network, so we’re appealing to anyone who might be moved to help. Your support, in any amount, can make a real difference for Rocío and her daughter during this painful chapter.

Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for helping in any way you can.
