Hi, my name is Riley, and I’m raising funds for a medical alert and assistance service dog to help me live more safely and independently.
I’ve been diagnosed with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), and I’m still undergoing evaluations for other chronic conditions that affect my daily life. One of the scariest and most disruptive symptoms I face is fainting , often with little to no warning. It makes everyday things like shopping, standing in lines, or even walking around the house feel dangerous and unpredictable.
At the moment I’m not able to drive and I don’t feel safe going out alone. A properly trained service dog would be able to alert me before episodes, help guide me to safety, retrieve items when I’m too weak, and provide grounding and support during flares. More than anything, this dog would help me gain back pieces of my independence that chronic illness has taken from me.
Training a service dog is a long and expensive process, and not something covered by insurance. Between the cost of a suitable dog, professional training, and medical gear, the expenses add up fast. Any amount you can give would mean the world, and even just sharing this helps me get one step closer to a safer, more supported life.
Thank you for reading, sharing, or donating.
