Help Richelle Care for Larry in His Final Days

Hi, I’m Kelly, but this isn’t about me. It’s about Richelle, my friend and client. She is partially disabled, and I assist her with daily personal activities.

Richelle has a big heart. About 2 years ago, she experienced homelessness and lived in a tent for 6 months before being rescued. While in the camp, she met a man 10 years her senior with stage 4 bone cancer, Larry, and they quickly became besties. When she found out that she’d been granted a housing voucher, she kept it from everyone, quietly searching for an apartment. And when she found one, she not only told Larry, she invited him to share the apartment with her because she couldn’t live with the thought of him dying in a tent all alone. Larry gratefully accepted.

That was the end of 2023. Larry, who has worked his whole life, lost his job due to the store closing last September. They called it his “retirement” even though there was no “retirement money.” Richelle changed some of their living and eating habits to try and make her income cover everything, but Larry’s gotten sicker and his needs have grown. He has no insurance and has gone through any money he’d saved. It was really tough, but Richelle was trying her best to make it work on less than $1,000 each month. And she did, mostly. But Larry’s situation keeps worsening with the cancer just sucking the life out of him and the money right out of her. I can’t just sit here and watch her and Larry suffer. I no longer bill her for services and bring groceries when I can. Will you please help me save Richelle so she can help Larry through the short amount of time he has left? I thank you in advance for any help you’re able to give. Thank you so much for reading this. If it touched you, please pass it on to a friend.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
