This is very hard for me to write…Asking for money was never something I thought I would have had to do, but Danilo and I are at a point that we don’t know what else to do.
Medical bills are stacking up higher than we can pay them on top of our other bills we have to deal with on a monthly basis.
This past year I had what was considered a high risk pregnancy which required many specialist visits and additional testing to ensure the health of me and my baby. We were handling the bills as they came, but Danilo lost his job in January putting us in this financial issue as we had to run through our savings to keep afloat.
We were working toward financial recovery when I had to be induced a lot earlier due to my health being in danger. I had a rare form of Pre-eclampsia known as HELLP. It caused my liver enzymes to fly through the roof, affecting my blood cells and my liver. I still have to follow up with a GI specialist to confirm I had no damage to my liver following my delivery and cannot return to work yet. This involves more tests to estimate the full damage to my liver. I’ve also developed issues with my veins as a result of the pregnancy that is requiring me to get more procedures to correct it before it gets worse and affects my ability for day to day activities.
Following delivery we learned that Damian was born with a birth defect that required further medical treatments, and to top it off Danilo also needs to get surgery within this month that he can no longer delay as it’s poorly affecting his health. We have been trying to suspend it as long as possible but his condition has worsened to the point that we can no longer delay his procedure. He will also require another medical procedure after he recovers from his first surgery.
We are asking for help in paying our medical and monthly bills until I can get back to work. We can not afford child care at this time and Danilo will be unable to care for Damian while he is recovering from his surgeries for almost a month. I no longer have any paid leave available from my employer to care for him and Damian during this time.
$2800 would enable our family to pay off our significant hospital bills, which would take such a weight off of our shoulders while we care for Damian and focus on the remaining $4200 needed to meet our needs as we transition careers and get back on our feet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated until I can get back to work. We know times are tough for everyone right now, and that is why we hate asking this…
