Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out today with a humble request for help on behalf of my husband, who has been battling a progressive eye disease called Keratoconus. For those unfamiliar, Keratoconus causes the cornea to thin and bulge outward into a cone shape, severely impacting vision. The only solution that allows him to see clearly and prevent the disease from worsening is a specialized pair of scleral glass contacts — which cost $3,000 and, heartbreakingly, are not covered by insurance because they’re considered “cosmetic.”
These lenses are not optional for him — they are essential for daily function, his quality of life, and protecting his remaining vision.
We’re in a tough spot financially right now. We just welcomed a beautiful baby into the world this April and have an 3 year old, and we’re currently living on a single income as I care for our newborn. While we would never normally ask for help, the reality is this cost is beyond what we can manage on our own right now.
If you are able to contribute any amount, big or small, it would mean the world to our family. And if you can’t donate at this time, simply sharing this campaign with others would be an incredible help.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, and being a part of our community. Your kindness brings us closer to a solution that will give my husband the gift of clear vision and help him continue to be the incredible father and partner he strives to be every day.
