A few weeks ago, my mom was diagnosed with cadmium poisoning because of a necklace a client gifted her. While this was pretty funny at first (see below), it’s become somewhat serious. She started treatment, but continues to have allergic reactions. She’s unable to work during this time since her skin is literally falling off. While she has Medicare, everything she needs isn’t covered. I’m asking for donations to help with her treatment and cover her bills while she’s off work.
I partially support my mom and brother, who live together. Normally, I’d try to help my mom without asking for help, but, like many creatives right now, I’m suffering from the lack of work in my industry right now. I’ve helped where I can, but it’s not enough to make sure my mom can still pay her mortgage.
My mom is older and works as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She takes care of people every day and her clients love her. She’s a selfless person and I hope you’ll consider helping her out.
Below are some photos of her skin reactions she said I could share. This is why she can’t work during treatment.
