My name is Mark Fontaine. I’m 68 years old with wife 66 years old. Up until September last year I had a good job providing homeset services for a national RV resort Company. For 13 years I’ve been consistently working full time as a general contractor installing their RV’s. They generally install 15 homes at a time. In September 2024 the city I work in issued a moratorium on new development. It’s because they did not build enough water wells in the area to handle the amount of new subdivision development.
“The City of Conroe has enacted a Temporary Development Moratorium effective August 29, 2024, due to concerns over water infrastructure limitations. This moratorium currently affects approximately 5,000 residential lots in the northern region of the city and is being considered for expansion citywide. The city council has authorized staff to begin the formal process for this citywide moratorium due to ongoing water capacity issues. For more details, you can refer to the official city website.”
Since the moratorium I have not worked since this has been my only client. I have depleted all of my savings and run up my Credit Cards in order to make ends meet.
Unfortunately, I have a chronic back issue that keeps me from being able to work somewhere else. My wife also has a Bipolar issue, and she can only do menial jobs when they come available.
I’m currently trying to liquidate any bills that I do not need.
My whole life I’ve always had a job and work coming in. I’ve never been faced with a situation like this.
Thank you for your consideration and help.
Mark
