My name is Jose Santana. I am doing this to help my sister. She has worked 42 years of her life and became disabled due to serious health issues. My sister worked for schools for over 34 years; she was a Regional Director and was a Spanish Teacher. She misses working, but unfortunately, her health issues do not allow her to work.
My sister just went through a major surgery last week. Doctors removed a 2-inch tumor from her heart, and it was sitting on the aorta. They were able to remove 75%; the remaining 25% the doctor had to scrape off. If he had tried to remove it all, she would have bled out and could have died. She has 3 more upcoming surgeries.
Her husband has to have major surgery on his back, and he is self-employed, which means he doesn’t have vacation pay or sick time. If he doesn’t work, there’s no income. He will need time off to recover from his back surgery. They have a mortgage to pay, groceries, hospital bills, etc.
