My co-worker, Christina Vanderpool, has a very special boy, Aiden. Aiden was born with Down’s Syndrome and also Moya-Moya disease. If you know anything about either of those diagnoses, they are very serious and come with many medical trials. Recently, Aiden has had to go in for an angiogram that didn’t quite go like his mom and his neuro team had hoped for. Aiden is now required to have brain surgery in the next few weeks. Recovery for anyone from brain surgery is lengthy and scary, to say the least. But, the health concerns during and after a brain surgery for someone who has Down’s are astronomically more frightening. Christina has no way of knowing how long she will be out of work, but we do know that it will be several weeks, as she is Aiden’s sole caregiver and the only source of income at her home. I am asking if you find it in your heart to please help in any way possible. I hope that with all of the stress involved in Christina’s everyday life, adding in a very serious and scary surgery for her child, a stop in income is the last thing she has to worry about. Please keep Christina and Aiden in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks as they go through a very scary and unknown time in their lives.
