My name is Elizabeth, and I’m currently out of work due to a knee injury that made it impossible to walk to and from my job, especially with the long 8-9 hour shifts. On top of that, I have arthritis in my hips and knees, which makes getting around even harder. My boyfriend has been covering most of our bills, but it’s putting a lot of stress on him and making me feel guilty that I can’t contribute right now. The places that are hiring are too far to walk, and unfortunately, the bus routes don’t go in that direction.
I’m hoping to get a low-impact retail job to help with our bills while I also shadow at a funeral home. My dream is to become a mortician so I can give families peace of mind, knowing their loved ones are being cared for with respect and compassion. I believe everyone deserves dignity and comfort during times of loss, and I want to be there for people in those moments.
To make this possible, I need a small to mid-size, reliable used car—something automatic and good on gas mileage. Having a car would allow me to start working and shadowing as soon as possible, easing the financial burden on my boyfriend and helping me move forward with my career goals. Any support would mean the world to us and help me get back on my feet.
