My name is Efrain, and I’ve spent my life working hard—most recently as a truck driver for Coca-Cola and as a 9/11 responder. After suffering a stroke, I can no longer drive, and my health has taken a serious turn. I’m now facing kidney failure, lung issues, and diabetes caused by a cyst in my pancreas, which doctors say has a high chance of turning into cancer. I recently spent time in the hospital, and the medical bills have left me overwhelmed and upside down financially. Despite being a member of the 9/11 health organization, I haven’t received the help I need, and my applications for disability have been denied twice.
My wife has been my rock, supporting me every day as I struggle with fatigue, fluctuating blood sugar, and limited mobility. I’ve worked since I was 16, always contributing and helping others, but now I find myself in need. The funds raised will go directly toward paying off my mounting medical bills and helping us cover basic living expenses while I focus on my health and recovery. Any support will make a real difference in helping me get back on my feet and face the challenges ahead. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can offer.
