As many of you know, in February we traveled to Philadelphia to get some answers for Dominik pertaining to his health issues. He is currently about 95% dependent on the G-tube for nutrition as he has extreme trouble with his oral motor skills and he will not swallow food. We are still waiting for his genome panel to come back, but in the meantime, the GI doc suggested esophageal motility testing, which only one doctor in the state of Florida does. Due to our insurance not wanting to cover this testing to be done in the hospital because the provider and hospital are out of network, we reached back out to the specialist at CHOP to see if they had anyone who can do those same tests. Luckily, they did, and for whatever reason, CHOP is in network, so our insurance will cover it. We just have to make the trip there for a couple of days.
Currently, Dominik is in therapies 3 days a week, so I am working part-time and picking up shifts as possible. My husband is working full-time and finding extra jobs as he can. We are already stretched thin, so we could use any and all help to be able to get there to Philadelphia to get Dominik this testing. Any donation is appreciated.
