Hi community
My name is DeOnyae-Dior Valentina, and I’m a Black trans woman, grassroots organizer, and storyteller who fights every day for the survival and liberation of people like me. I’m so proud to share that after years of navigating systems that told me I wasn’t worthy—I finally have a date for my Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS)!
This surgery is not cosmetic for me—it’s life-affirming, safety-giving, and joy-inducing. And I’m grateful to say that the procedure itself is fully covered. However, I’ll be out of work for about two weeks while I heal, and I’m reaching out for mutual aid to help me recover safely and with dignity.
Your support will help cover:
• Hot meals and groceries while I’m on bedrest
• Post-surgery hygiene and care supplies
• Transportation to follow-up appointments
• ️ Recovery comfort (pillows, ice packs, neck support)
• A small cushion for bills during time off work
Any amount—big or small—helps. If you can’t give financially, please consider sharing or sending a kind message. Mutual aid has carried me through so many storms.
This journey is about more than one surgery—it’s about Black and brown trans joy, embodiment, and survival. Thank you for standing beside me during this powerful transition.
With gratitude,
DeOnyae-Dior Valentina
