My Dad was admitted to the hospital after having a stroke at home following a surgery that was to prevent him from becoming paralyzed. While at the hospital, he had a second stroke due to the hospital’s negligence, which caused extensive damage to his speech as well as motor skills. He is still in the hospital and is expected to be there for an additional 3 to 4 weeks for inpatient rehab.
He is the only one in the home who works, as my mother recently had surgery herself and is unable to lift anything heavy and is still in her healing process. Their water heater went out today and completely flooded their main bathroom. They have homeowners’ insurance, but the repairs will not be covered. My Dad was given a 12-week recovery time before returning to work, but now with the strokes, that time has been extended.
We are asking for assistance in this situation as they still have to maintain their mortgage payments and cost of living. We are hoping for a speedy recovery, but at this time, we are uncertain of how things will progress, and there are still a lot of unknowns.
