Celma Ferraz is the youngest child of my mother Maria Berta Ferraz and the late Pastor David Ferraz, who passed away 18 years ago from prostate cancer. That experience was especially difficult for our mother, and now we’re facing a very similar situation.
Celma is 38 years old and a single mother to her 12-year-old son, David. Recently, doctors in Angola found what they believe is a tumor in her breast. Unfortunately, medical care in Angola is extremely limited. There is only one oncology center in the country, and even getting a basic biopsy is taking an unacceptably long time. Meanwhile, Celma is in pain and not receiving the care she needs.
The best option is for her to go to South Africa, where she can get proper exams and treatment—but that comes with costs she cannot cover alone: travel, accommodations, food, a translator, and the medical expenses themselves.
Our mother, who now lives with us in Orlando, is having a hard time watching her daughter go through this. After losing her husband to cancer, this situation has reopened a lot of pain and fear for her.
That’s why my children and I have set up this fundraiser—to raise the money needed to get Celma the care she urgently needs. If you’re able to help in any way—through a donation or by sharing this link—we would be truly grateful.
Thank you, and God bless you.
