Help Caty Heal & Get Back Behind the Chair!
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my precious friend Caty, a talented and beloved hairstylist whose life was recently turned upside down by a VERY serious injury.
Caty is more than just a stylist — she’s a warm heart, a creative spirit, and a source of confidence and comfort to every client who sits in her chair. But recently, she suffered a fall resulting in fracures in her both her wrist and arm, and a messy break at the elbow causing her elbow to remain dislocated – all on her dominant arm. Her surgeon has told her it will require 3…. yes THREE, surgeries (2 for the elbow, and one for the wrist), as well as extensive rehab.
Because hairstylists work on their feet and with their hands all day, this injury means she won’t be able to work like normal for the next several months — no income, no tips, no clients (they will be seen by other stylists stepping in to help – so don’t panic if you’re one of her clients seeing this for the first time).
Like many in her profession, she’s self-employed, doesn’t have health insurance, and doesn’t have paid time off or short-term disability available to her. The financial impact of this is overwhelming. PLUS she STILL hasn’t had the surgery she needs because of required funds up front, and has been living with this major and painful injury for about 10 days now.
We’re raising funds to help cover:
• Medical bills and surgery costs
•Rent, utilities, and basic living expenses while she’s unable to work
•Physical therapy and follow-up care to help her heal properly
Any amount you can give will help take some of the stress off her shoulders so she can focus on healing. Even sharing this fundraiser makes a difference.
For over 33 years, Caty has poured SO much love and energy into others (and would never ask this herself) — now it’s our turn to show up for her. Let’s help her get back on her feet and back to doing what she loves.
Thank you so much for your support!
With love and gratitude,
Rachel Harris (long time friend, and once apprentice to Caty)
