Help Cathy Shelton Fight Stage 3 Breast Cancer
Hi everyone,
I’m writing this on behalf of my aunt, Cathy Shelton, who is courageously battling Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Breast Cancer) that has sadly metastasized. This diagnosis has changed her life in every way — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Cathy has always been the kind of person who shows up for others. Whether it’s offering a helping hand, sharing a smile, or simply being there when someone needs her — Cathy gives with her whole heart. Now, she needs our help.
Cathy was misdiagnosed at her local hospital, delaying proper treatment and forcing her to miss work. Her health insurance covers only the bare minimum, leaving her to cover many of the costs out of pocket.
Starting June 19th, Cathy will begin an aggressive chemotherapy regimen. For two months, she’ll receive what’s known as the “Red Devil” — one of the most intense chemo drugs — followed by Paclitaxel for another three months. Eventually, Cathy will need a double mastectomy.
She’ll need to travel twice a week to Baltimore, a 60-mile round trip, which adds up quickly when it comes to gas, tolls, and parking, all while navigating the side effects and emotional toll of cancer treatment.
She’s currently being supported by her mom (my grandmother), but they can’t do this alone.
How You Can Help:
Donate to help cover travel, medical costs not covered by insurance, and daily living expenses during this time.
Share this campaign with others — your support helps more than you know.
Send comfort or supplies through Cathy’s Amazon Wishlist, which includes helpful items for her chemo treatments and things to lift her spirits:
As many of you know, cancer care is not just emotionally and physically exhausting — it’s financially overwhelming. Cathy will be traveling frequently to and from the hospital for treatment, and the cost of gas, transportation, meals, and time off work adds up quickly.
We’ve set up this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden. Funds will go directly to:
Travel expenses to and from chemotherapy appointments
Help with basic living costs while she undergoes treatment
Future surgery and recovery support
Any unexpected medical or personal expenses that may arise
Cathy also has an Amazon Wishlist with items that will help her during treatment — everything from comfort items to practical necessities. If you’d prefer to help in that way, the link is included below.
Every dollar, every share, every kind word means the world to Cathy right now. Even if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page with your network.
