Hello Everyone,
For those who don’t know me, my name is Cindy. My family and I have been living in Mexico for the past 12 years (yes this fundraiser says Oklahoma because my bank account is there). While we’ve been blessed in many ways, we’ve always had a quiet concern in the back of our minds — what would happen if a medical emergency came up, knowing we don’t have private insurance and that public healthcare in our area is often overwhelmed.
Unfortunately, that day has come.
Two weeks ago, my husband Carlos began experiencing intense pain in his lower abdomen and scrotum. We rushed to the hospital, where he was referred to a urologist. After several tests, we learned that the pain is due to a hernia that has extended into his scrotum and caused a painful infection. He now needs surgery to repair the hernia and begin healing.
The cost for the surgery and all related doctor visits is about $2,500, and unfortunately, we simply don’t have that kind of money available.
Carlos is truly the heart of our family — our rock. It’s so difficult to see him in this much pain, unable to do the things he loves or be there for us in the way he usually is.
