Hi, I’m Caitlin Brady. I’m a mom of two amazing kiddos, a wife, a nerd, a lash artist, and I’m disabled. Sadly, my mobility is becoming increasingly limited and at times dangerous.
I have found my world becoming very limited. Work, and getting kids from school. Going to school events alone are too risky. Doing things on the weekend is exhausting to the point I can’t function. Everything has become based around how much time we have before I can no longer keep going.
I’m currently working with more doctors than I can count, including the Dysautonomia clinic at Stanford, the Chronic Fatigue clinic at Stanford, and UCSF genetics. I have chronic pain, vertigo, and many other debilitating issues.
Getting a wheelchair is a big, scary step, but it’s a huge opportunity to get some of my life back. It means being able to go out with my family, attend school events, take the kids to the park, go for walks, and go shopping. My kids will get more of their mom back.
Sadly, even with my insurance, the cost is still high. Insurance also doesn’t cover anything other than the actual wheelchair. My house has stairs and moving isn’t an option. Ramps and car lifts are all out of pocket. The wheelchair I’m currently borrowing is far too heavy and difficult to manage alone. My doctor requested a power chair to help save my arms and shoulders extra pain and possible injuries
These donations and shares will help me get my life back. My family and I will be grateful for any help.
