My name is Chris. I’ve hit a run of bad luck in the last three years, and I’d really like it to change. It’s caused me to be in a chair and lose my vision, which has been hard to swallow. A random act of violence at the MAX stop two years ago left me permanently blinded. When the perpetrator was asked his motive, he said, “because he was smiling and happy.” Then, in December of 2025, I was pushed out of my third-story window by a neighbor that broke in. Due to the accident, I lost my job, and I’ve come to find out that assistive reading technology is not covered by my insurance.
I would like to raise funds for the following tools to improve my quality of life:
- An e-bike ($1400) because I’ve been told I can never drive again
- Night reading glasses for the blind ($700)
- A text scanner that attaches to my glasses ($1200)
- A talking watch that tells me the time ($200-500)
- Some new clothes and medical shoes ($1000)
I’d also like to take a trip to see my sister, who I haven’t been able to visit in 32 years.
It was really hard for me to make this fundraiser page because I’ve always been the working type of guy. I really need some help, and I really appreciate everyone who donates.
