Hello our names are Rachel Yearwood (Daughter) JR White (Nephew) and we are trying to raise funds for Art as he has suffered a life changing accident!
While down South at a conference, an unexpected turn happened when Art suffered a life-changing accident. While swimming in the ocean, Art hit his head and broke his neck which led to a serious spinal cord injury that has changed the course of his life.
Since then, Art has undergone surgery and is currently in a spinal rehabilitation centre (Lyndhurst), where Art is working hard every day to relearn the basics — using his hands and legs, and caring for himself. His strength, resilience, and determination through this journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
Art is expected to be discharged from rehab in July, but that will mark the beginning of a new chapter. Once home, Art will need various supports to help navigate day-to-day life — including mobility aids, accessible housing and vehicle, therapy, and personal care equipment. While some of these costs are covered, MANY ARE NOT!!
We’ve been deeply moved by the outpouring of support and messages from those asking how they can help. For those who wish to contribute, we’ve created this page to offer a way to ease some of the financial strain, so Art can focus fully on his recovery and reclaiming his independence.
Every contribution — no matter the amount — is meaningful and appreciated. And if you’re unable to give, sharing this page with others who may be in a position to help is just as valuable.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us and for standing by Art as he works toward rebuilding his life.
