My name is Sandy, and my husband Andrew just spent a week in the hospital after an extended mini-stroke followed by surgery for a clogged left carotid artery that was >70% clogged. He returned home only to have two more ambulance trips on the next two consecutive days for continued issues that resembled more strokes. After another stint in the hospital, we just found out today that he has cerebral hyperfusion, which is a very rare occurrence that could have been fatal. We are grateful to the doctors who ran multiple tests to find this, and hopefully, he will be out of the hospital soon.
In the meantime, Andy has missed two weeks of work already and was told he would be out another 4-6 weeks. This is all unpaid time away from work. Additionally, we have incurred thousands of dollars in medical bills with three ambulance trips to the hospital and multiple days of inpatient stays and medical tests.
Any amount you are willing to donate would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers we have received.
Andy is looking forward to getting back to the things he enjoys like hiking, biking, and kayaking!
