Ellie Clark, a sweet and brave 5-year-old, is about to face the toughest fight of her young life. Born with a rare GI condition, Ellie Clark has already endured over 30 surgeries, countless hospital stays, and years of treatment. Despite all efforts, her body struggles to heal due to a rare immune system disorder that limits her immune system’s ability to recover.
After extensive testing, Ellie Clark’s doctors have made the difficult decision: she needs a bone marrow transplant to “reset” her immune system and give her the chance to heal and live a healthy life. This transplant will take place in Philadelphia starting this June, where Ellie Clark and her entire family will spend 4 to 6 months receiving care.
The transplant journey brings enormous challenges. The family will face the difficult task of balancing work, travel, and everyday responsibilities while providing Ellie Clark with the full support and care she needs during her intensive treatment and recovery.
