My name is Rachel, and I am reaching out on behalf of my best friend Nadia, who remains in critical condition, courageously fighting to recover after a horrific domestic violence attack. Writing this is incredibly difficult — but her story is one that must be heard to help others who may be silently suffering.
Nadia is smart, kind, bubbly, witty, and wildly generous. She’s the one who always shows up for others — and now it’s our turn to show up for her. Whether you’ve known her forever or are just learning her story, one thing is clear: Nadia deserves to be safe, to heal, and to be surrounded by love.
In the early morning of June 2nd, Nadia had a seizure at the airport after enduring an unthinkable assault lasting over two hours. She suffered severe injuries, including two black eyes, facial swelling, extensive bruising, and a subdural hematoma (bleeding in the brain) that required emergency surgery. She was admitted to intensive care and now faces a long, uncertain road to recovery.
Nadia is also navigating the deep emotional trauma of betrayal. The person responsible is her husband, a man many know in the food and wine industry — but few understand the pain Nadia endured behind closed doors.
Nadia didn’t ask for any of this — but we know she needs space to heal, freedom from fear, and the chance to rebuild a life of her own choosing.
