Help David Fight Brain Cancer – Support the Crenshaw Family
Hi, my name is Erin, and I’m reaching out with the most difficult ask I’ve ever made. My husband, David, has been diagnosed with a glioma, a cancerous brain tumor that affects the brain’s ability to function—impacting speech, memory, movement, and even personality. These tumors can grow quickly, and treatment is aggressive and intense. Our world has changed in an instant.
Just a few weeks ago, we were full of excitement. We had just bought a new home for our family—something we’d worked toward for years. As we proudly showed the house to our three children for the first time, David suddenly collapsed in the driveway. He was having a seizure, right in front of all of us. It was terrifying. That seizure was the beginning of a long and painful journey—multiple hospital visits, MRIs, and finally, the devastating diagnosis: glioma.
Since then, everything has moved quickly. David will soon begin radiation and chemotherapy, and we’ve been told to prepare for a long, hard road ahead. Neither of us will be able to work consistently during this time—between his treatment schedule and the need for me to be by his side as caregiver and co-parent to our children.
We are only able to get care through the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, which is the only facility equipped to treat David’s condition. Unfortunately, it’s a 2.5-hour drive each way from our home. This adds an exhausting layer of logistical and emotional strain to an already overwhelming situation. The travel alone is physically and financially draining—but we have no other option.
To be honest, we’re scared—not just of the diagnosis, but of how we’ll keep our family afloat during this crisis. With a new mortgage and mounting medical bills, we simply can’t do this alone.
Your support will help us:
• Cover medical expenses and treatments not fully covered by insurance
• Afford the constant travel to and from the Cleveland Clinic
• Stay on top of our mortgage and essential bills while we take time off work
• Maintain stability for our three children during an incredibly uncertain time
This is urgent. We’re trying to focus on David’s health and our children’s well-being, but the financial pressure is crushing. We need help—and we need it now.
Please, if you can, donate. Any amount—big or small—makes a difference. If you can’t give, sharing this with your network would mean the world to us.
With gratitude,
Erin Crenshaw
