My name is Damari, and I’m preparing for a hip replacement surgery after years of living with pain and limited mobility. Thirteen years ago, I had my third hip and surgery, which unfortunately led to a serious blood clot in my left leg and a stay in the ICU. Because I have severe allergies to anti-inflammatory medications, I can’t take them to manage pain or prevent complications. This makes my recovery especially challenging and risky.
To give myself the best chance at a safe and smooth recovery, I need to rent two essential pieces of equipment: a Game Ready ice therapy machine and a blood clot prevention machine. The Game Ready machine will help reduce swelling and pain since I can’t use standard medications, while the blood clot prevention machine is critical to avoid another life-threatening clot. These machines are not covered by insurance, and the costs add up quickly.
For the past five years, the pain in my hip has made it difficult to enjoy daily activities or spend time with loved ones. I’m asking for support so I can access the equipment I need to recover safely and regain my quality of life. Any help you can give will make a real difference in my journey to healing.
