Dakota Needs Your Help to Recover

I’m Janice and this is Dakota. Dakota got spooked by a storm and escaped through a locked doggie door (he figgured out the lock – too smart for himself). He escaped 4/19 and went missing for 7 weeks and returned 6/8. Dakota has lost a LOT of weight – 13 pounds. He will need to see a groomer because he has long hair and it’s really matted and has lots of burs and sticks, and I’m sure he has fleas and ticks that I can’t get to. He’ll also need to see a veterinarian. I’m sure he’ll need special food for several weeks until his weight comes back up to normal, and he’ll need to be monitored by the vet. He probably has worms. I’m sure he’ll need to have bloodwork done to see where all of his levels are at and will possibly need antibiotics and other meds to get him healthy. I am asking for help with his expenses to get him healthy again.

Even a $5 or $10 donation would help towards his bills. If you prefer to pay directly to the veterinarian – we’re going to use East Texas Veterinary Clinic. It’ll be under Janice Bortner, and under Dakota. (I plan on calling and setting something up with them tomorrow – 6/12) And if you can’t, I totally understand, so just saying a prayer that his transformation back to stay-at-home-doggie from out-on-the-street-survival-mode-doggie goes smoothly and that he doesn’t have a lot of health issues would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Also… We had some wonderful people helping us keep an eye out for Dakota. Thank you everyone for all the help. I must have received over 200 phone calls, texts, FB private messages and Facebook posts!!! You helped us bring him home!!!! Nacogdoches – you rock!!!!

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
