In 2024, my sister Claire Kipps suffered a heart attack and a cardiac arrest. It was a terrifying and life-threatening moment. Incredibly, ambulance professionals were already with her when it happened, something we are endlessly grateful for. Thanks to their swift action, Claire survived. But since then, her mobility and stamina have been deeply affected, and she now faces daily challenges just getting around.
More recently, Claire suffered a spinal fracture, which has made things even harder. She has severe osteoporosis, caused by the significant amount of steroids she has had to take since childhood to manage her health. This long-term condition has left her bones fragile and her independence increasingly limited.
Claire has been using a borrowed wheelchair, but it is clear she now needs a mobility scooter to help her safely and confidently move around.
As we all know, Claire is incredibly determined. She still works as an exam invigilator and does everything she can to stay active for her five boys. But right now, she needs a little extra help, and that is where we come in.
The funds raised will be used to purchase a lightweight, foldable mobility scooter, along with insurance (lol questionavle driving!) and any necessary maintenance to keep it running reliably.
It would be wonderful for all of us who know and love Claire to pull together at this time and support her in getting the mobility assistance she needs to regain her independence. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference.
Thank you so much in advance for your kindness and generosity.
With heartfelt thanks,
Sarah
