I have a severe nearsighted prescription of -10.00 in both eyes, which makes everyday life incredibly challenging. Without my glasses, I can’t see more than a few inches in front of me. Even with corrective lenses, my vision is strained and limited, and simple tasks like walking outside, driving, or working at a computer can be overwhelming.
After many consultations, I’ve been told that Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) surgery is my best and safest option for long-term vision correction. Unlike LASIK, ICL is specifically designed for people like me with high prescriptions, and it offers the possibility of clear, stable vision without relying on thick glasses or contacts.
Unfortunately, this procedure is not covered by insurance, and the total cost is $5,000 — a price that’s currently out of reach for me on my own.
