“Hi everyone. My name is Lacy, and I’m a single mom of two beautiful children — my true miracles.
When I was just 19 years old, my life changed forever. On the night of may 8th 2009 , I was involved in horrific motor vehicle accident that drastically changed my life in a split second and left me with unimaginable injuries:
My pelvis was shattered in 8 different places
I fractured both my C5 and C7 vertebrae
I dislocated my elbow
I sustained a traumatic brain injury
And eventually, I lost my left leg and hip — I had to undergo a full hip disarticulation amputation.
It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. I had to learn how to live all over again — in a body with new limits, a mind in recovery, and a heart that refused to give up.
Doctors told me I wouldn’t be able to have children. But by the grace of God, I miraculously gave birth to two beautiful babies via ceasarean.
One year after my son was born…
Two years later, I gave birth to my daughter.
They are my angels. A gift from above. I truly believe God gave them to me to fulfill the purpose I always dreamed of — to be a mother. And I fight every day to give them the best life I can.
Many years after my motor vehicle accident,I developed a chronic bone infection called osteomyelitis, which is in my pelvic bone called the ischium and gradually it’s causing my ischium bone to degenerate.
I almost lost all hope you until
I’ve recently found something that is giving me hope again. A treatment called Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or HBOT. It has been proven to help heal chronic infections like the one I’ve battled for years — chronic osteomyelitis .
I’ve done a ton of research on the how successful HBOT is for people with Chronic Osteomyelitis and
In cases of chronic refractory osteomyelitis, HBOT has an 81 to 85 percent remission rate and is FDA-approved.
With HBOT, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a patient relaxes in a hyperbaric chamber and receives 100 percent oxygen at increased atmospheric pressure. This floods the body with oxygen, including areas such as a bone infection where poor blood supply limits the oxygen levels.
Most bacteria and fungi thrive in low oxygen, so the addition of oxygen is often enough to stop the spread of the infection. The increased oxygen stimulates the immune system to fight off the infection, as well as stimulates diseased tissue and blood vessels to repair and grow.
HBOT, or hyperbaric oxygen therapy, also reduces swelling in the bone and surrounding tissue associated with osteomyelitis.
For chronic refractory osteomyelitis, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) typically involves 20-40 sessions to achieve sustained therapeutic benefit. These sessions are often 90 minutes long, 5 days a week.
The cost of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for osteomyelitis can vary isignificantly, ranging from approximately $150 to $600 or more per session
But here’s the hard part — it’s not covered by insurance and it’s incredibly expensive. So I’m asking — from the bottom of my heart — for your support.
If anyone who came across this video could donate even just $10 we could raise enough money I need to give me the opportunity to try this extremely successful hyperbaric oxygen tank treatment and ultimately eradicate my bone infection.
If you’re unable to donate even just a share would be greatly appreciated.
This HBOT opportunity could change my life. Please Help me be the healthiest, strongest version of myself — not just for me, but for the two little miracles who call me Mom.
Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring. And thank you for being a part of this journey with me.” ❤️
