Help Nick Rickard and family as he recovers from a stroke
On Friday, June 13th, our friend and coworker, Nick Rickard, suffered a stroke at just 43 years old. Once admitted into the hospital, initial scans showed bleeding on his brain. He then suffered a seizure and lost his ability to communicate. On Saturday, the bleeding had gotten large enough that emergency surgery was necessary. He has since undergone an additional brain surgery to remove more bleeding. He has no movement on the left side of his body and remains on a breathing tube in the Neuro Critical Care Unit. At this time, his road to recovery is unknown, but it will be long and it will be hard. Doctors are unsure how much mobility he will regain through his long, strenuous recovery/treatment.
Nick is very proud of his work and is deeply loyal to his job at Kerr. But more than anything, he is proud of the life he built with his wife, Brianna, and their two beautiful children, Hollis and Lilian. His family is doing their best to navigate this unexpected challenge, but the financial burden is growing.
We are setting up a fundraiser page to assist Nick and his family as he recovers to raise funds to help them cover:
1. Medical and rehab expenses
2. Living costs while Nick recovers
3. Support for his wife and children
If you’re able, please donate or share this page to help lift some of the weight off Nick and his family during this difficult time. Every bit helps. Funds raised will be sent directly to his wife and children via fundraiser transfer. The Kerr Team will match $20,000 of your generous and thoughtful donation.
