I’m Jasmine and this is my 8 year old son, Jameson. At 2 years old, Jamesons speech and social skills regressed. Shortly after, at just 4 years old Jameson began having migraines and recurring fevers that resulted in a febrile seizure. After the seizure Jameson became self injurious and extremely difficult to regulate. In 2022 Jameson was hospitalized with PANDAS, Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections, is a childhood disorder that can cause severe neurological, physical, and psychological symptoms in children after a strep infection. Although Jameson is non speaking, he is a happy and kind hearted boy that has learned to navigate his disability as best as he can despite the physical and psychological hardships he’s endured for so long. My son has been locked inside the maze within his own brain for 6 years. The inability to communicate and regulate himself has wreaked havoc on his mind and body, and left him and our family in a constant state of fight or flight. The trauma and years lost we have endured as a family will all be worth it, if we can get him the treatment he desperately needs. Stem cell therapy is a regenerative medicine that grows new nerve cells and heals inflammation of the nervous system and damaged cells, improving speech, social skills, and behavior. Stem cell therapy has shown phenomenal results for autism treatment but is not yet FDA approved for treatment in the US. The Stem Cell Institute in Costa Rica has the ability to provide this treatment and unlock endless possibilities for Jameson as well as our family. Without this treatment, my son will need long term care and support, even after I’m gone, which is a fear and pain I wish on no parent. His brothers and sisters dream of the day they can talk and play with their brother, and I dream of the day he is free from the pain and struggles that have stolen not only his voice, but his childhood. If you are not able to donate, please use your voice to advocate and bring awareness for my son and other children and families suffering in silence. Help Jameson find his voice.
