Save Raghd – 9-Year-Old Girl Diagnosed with HLH Needs Life-Sustaining Treatment in Turkey
We Lost Her Sister. We Cannot Lose Her Too.
News coverage: here
My name is Saher Elsayed, and I’m currently raising emergency funds for Raghd, a 9-year-old who is so dearly loved by my family in Egypt. Today, she’s in a hospital bed battling for her life. Diagnosed with HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis), a rare and aggressive immune disorder, HLH tragically took her older sister just a few years ago.
Her sister Waad was only 9 when she received a stem cell transplant from her father. It was only a half-match. The family tried everything they could—but 55 days later, Waad passed away.
History is repeating itself now—and time is running out.
Waad’s story: Here
What is HLH?
HLH is a fatal immune disorder where the body attacks itself and targets organs such as the liver, brain, and bone marrow. Unless treated with chemotherapy and an ideal matched stem cell transplant, survival is not likely.
Why Turkey is Her Best and Only Hope
In Egypt, the HLH survival rate is incredibly low. According to recent research conducted at Ain Shams University, only 27% of child patients survive because access to donors and treatment is limited.
But in Turkey, pediatric HLH centers report survival rates over 60%, thanks to experienced transplant teams, genetic donor registries, and advanced care protocols.
Raghd has a real chance—if we can get her there.
Where Your Donation Goes
Bone Marrow Transplant $55,000 – $66,000
Hospital care and medication $10,000 – $20,000
Total Needed $65,000 – $85,000
This covers only the medical treatment. We will handle all travel, food, and housing ourselves. Every dollar you give will go directly toward saving her life.
A Desperate Plea for Help
“We lost Waad. Now Raghd is in the hospital with the same disease. In Egypt, chances are low. But in Turkey, they said she has a real chance. Please help us get her there in time.”
You Can Be the Reason She Lives
We’ve already buried one little girl. We won’t bury another. Please, with all our hearts—give what you can, and help us spread this story to the farthest reaches. Time is of the essence, but we hold out hope.
This was the initial discovery of HLH for Raghd back in 2020
With profound thanks,
