We are Sandy and David, and we’re reaching out for help as we face some of the most difficult challenges of our lives. David has been battling stage 4 liver cancer for nearly a year. After radiation treatment on his original tumor, doctors recently discovered two more tumors on his liver and a malignant mass on his adrenal gland. The mass on his adrenal gland is inoperable, so he will soon begin chemotherapy and radiation. Before that, he needs a procedure to burn the two new tumors on his liver. Our next trip to Lexington for this procedure is scheduled for the 25th, and we’re struggling to get there.
Traveling for David is extremely hard. He suffers from severe fatigue, and each trip takes a toll on his health, requiring days of rest afterward. I use a wheelchair and cannot wear a prosthetic leg due to complications from my amputation. Getting in and out of our vehicle is a daily struggle for both of us. David has to lift and load my wheelchair, which is physically demanding for him, especially as he deals with his own health issues. Recently, the transmission in our truck failed, leaving us stranded at home. We urgently need funds to repair our vehicle or, ideally, to get an SUV that is accessible for both of us. Reliable transportation is essential not only for David’s cancer treatments but also for our daily needs.
Your support will help us cover travel expenses, vehicle repairs, and hopefully secure a more accessible car. This will make a huge difference in our ability to get to David’s treatments and improve our quality of life during this incredibly challenging time. Any help you can give means the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness and support.
