Hello, My name is Tanisha Thornton and I am raising money on the behalf of my mother who is battling Pancreatic Cancer. Unfortunately, this is a sad occasion and I am in need of my family, friends, and community support.
My mother gave 27 years of her life to one organization. Nearly three decades of dedication, loyalty, and unwavering commitment. She didn’t just do her job—she went above and beyond it. She volunteered her own time. She gave her all. She believed in the mission. She believed they cared. But when she was diagnosed with cancer, that same organization let her go.
For 27 years her worth seemed worthless. No recognition. No compassion. They made it seem like she chose to leave—when the truth is, she was pushed out in her most vulnerable moment.
Now I look at my mother—stressed, heartbroken, in pain. She cries often. She didn’t ask for much. All she wanted was to heal and feel valued by the place she gave so much of her life to. Instead, she was discarded like she didn’t matter.
This isn’t just about the money. This is about dignity. Respect. Basic humanity. No one who gives 27 years of their life should be treated this way. And certainly not a woman of strength, grace, and quiet sacrifice like my mother.
We will continue to stand by my mother and help her fight—not just for her health, but for her peace. If you feel moved to help support her during this time, please donate for her treatment.
Signed,
A worried Daughter
